Chhath Special Trains: The grand festival of Chhath has begun across the country today, October 25th. This festival will continue to be celebrated until October 28th. Many people living away from home travel home for Chhath and return to work after celebrating Chhath. Some people take leave for Chhath, but most of them travel by train. Railways has released the schedule for 6181 special trains for those returning home after Chhath Puja.

This will ensure easy and safe travel for those returning to work after the festival. This step has been taken in view of the heavy rush of passengers travelling to Bihar and Purvanchal during Chhath. A large number of people leave for their homes from various parts of the country, such as Delhi, Mumbai, Surat, Amritsar, and several other major cities. Return services will begin on October 28th

The Railways announced that 6,181 special trains will operate from October 28th to accommodate passengers returning home after Chhath Puja. These trains will provide relief to those returning to work after the festival. Additional Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters and automated ticket machines are also being installed at major stations. The Railways has ensured that passengers traveling amidst the crowds have a comfortable and safe experience. This step has been taken to manage the increased crowds during Chhath and for the convenience of passengers.

Train Arrangements for Chhath

A large number of people travel during Chhath. Therefore, special holding areas have been created at stations such as New Delhi, Anand Vihar Terminal, Udhna, Pune, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Railway employees are busy guiding passengers and maintaining order.

More than 900 special trains will also be operated from November 25th to ease the festive rush. This is being done to ensure everyone can travel safely and easily with their families.

Special preparations at 30 stations in Bihar

Nearly 30 main stations in Bihar are being prepared with holding areas, additional ticket counters, CCTV surveillance, and other passenger-friendly facilities. Extra coaches have also been added to accommodate the increasing number of passengers.

Weather-proof holding areas are being constructed at main stations such as Patna, Danapur, Rajendra Nagar Terminal, Saharsa, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Samastipur, and Barauni. Similar facilities are being expanded in Gorakhpur, Ballia, and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. This initiative aims to ensure safe and easy travel for passengers.
