Patna (Bihar) [India], October 23 (ANI): Bihar Congress incharge Krishna Allavaru has said that parties of the INDIA bloc have shown a vision for Bihar and its people and asked the ruling NDA about its report card.
Allavaru alleged that the NDA neither "has a vision nor a face" in Bihar.
He noted that the opposition alliance has the unity and a face to implement all these promises of education, health, employment, and farming that they have made to the people.
"INDIA bloc has shown a vision for Bihar and the people of Bihar. We have an agenda for education, health, employment, and farming. We also have the unity and a face to implement all these promises. I want to ask the NDA for their report card in Bihar... NDA neither has a vision nor a face. Amit Shah should tell if Nitish Kumar will be the CM face of NDA or not," Krishna Allavaru told ANI.
Earlier today, in a joint press conference of the Mahagathbandhan, senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot announced that Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav will be the Chief Ministerial candidate for the assembly elections in Bihar, scheduled to be held in two phases on November 6 and 11.
"He is a young person. He has a long future and the public will support him," Gehlot said.
The Congress leader stated that everyone should be concerned about the country's situation.
Gehlot said that people of Bihar want change as they struggle with multiple issues, including unemployment. He alleged that the way the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in the Centre is operating is a "threat to democracy".
"It is obvious to get worried about the condition of the country and the state. The situation is serious. The way the NDA government operates is a threat to democracy. There is polarisation. Nobody knows in which direction the country is heading. If you criticise, you are sent to jail - it doesn't matter if you are a journalist or activist. It is our responsibility to keep in mind what the country wants. The country is watching Bihar. The issue of unemployment remains. People want change," he said.
BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad on Thursday slammed Tejashwi Yadav and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will develop Bihar with the double-engine government. (ANI)
