Send Push
With heavy rain lashing Delhi-NCR and creating unsafe conditions, the Ghaziabad district administration has declared a holiday for all schools and educational institutions on Wednesday, 3 September 2025.

The order applies to government, aided, and private schools, including those affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, and the Madarsa Board. Students from nursery to Class 12 will have the day off.

District officials explained that the decision was taken in view of student safety, as continuous rainfall has resulted in waterlogging and worsening weather across the region.

The District Basic Education Officer, O. P. Yadav, issued the notice following the directions of the District Magistrate. All schools have been instructed to strictly comply with the order.

Meanwhile, Delhi and the wider NCR are facing major disruptions due to the downpour. Traffic congestion has intensified, particularly at the Delhi-Gurugram border, while the rising Yamuna has raised concerns about flooding.

Flight operations have also been hit, with airlines issuing travel advisories amid waterlogging and low visibility.

Authorities remain on high alert, stepping up flood management measures and urging residents to remain cautious.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast cloudy skies from 2–4 September, with light rain or thundershowers each day.

On 3 September, light rain is expected, with maximum temperatures likely to hover between 32–34°C and minimum temperatures between 22–24°C.
