This week, several big and popular films hit the box office. Three films released on Friday: Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi's "Jolly LLB 3," Anurag Kashyap's "Nishanchi," and the biopic on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, "Ajay: The Untold Story of a Yogi." The already-running "Mirai," the Japanese anime "Demon Slayer," and the powerful South Indian film "Loka Chapter 1" also captivated audiences. Let's take a look at each film's earnings over the weekend and which ones failed to meet expectations.

Jolly LLB 3
Audiences had been waiting for this film for a long time, and upon its release, it received a tremendous response in theaters. After opening with approximately ₹12 crore on its first day, the film's momentum picked up on Saturday, reaching ₹20 crore. Audiences embraced the courtroom drama on Sunday, earning approximately ₹21 crore. In just three days, the film collected a whopping ₹53.50 crore (approximately $5.35 billion). The pairing of Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi not only won the courtroom but also the box office.
Sniper
Anurag Kashyap's film was expected to be a big surprise, but it had a weak opening. "Nishanchi," which earned just ₹2.5 million on Friday, saw a slight increase on Saturday, earning ₹3.9 million (approximately $3.9 million). The situation worsened further on Sunday, with collections dropping to ₹2.1 million (approximately $2.1 million). Overall, the film grossed only ₹8.5 million (approximately $8.5 million) in three days. Aishwarya Thackeray's debut failed to impress audiences.
Ajay
The makers were also hoping for a strong start with this film based on the life of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. However, the first day's collection was limited to ₹2.5 million (approximately $2.27 million). With a slight increase on Saturday, the film earned ₹3.276 million (approximately $5 million) and crossed the ₹5 million mark on Sunday. "Ajay" has grossed ₹1.18 crore (approximately $1.18 billion) in three days. The character of Yogi, played by Anant Joshi, is in the news, but it hasn't had a significant impact on the box office.
Mirai
Teja Sajja's film "Mirai" is performing well for the second consecutive week. The film earned ₹5.15 crore on Saturday and ₹5.75 crore on Sunday. The total collection has now crossed ₹78.75 crore. Audiences seem to be quite impressed with the film's visual effects and story.
Demon Slayer
Japanese anime films' efforts to establish a significant presence at the Indian box office have paid off. While there was a decline in the second week, the film gained momentum over the weekend. Earning ₹3.25 crore on Saturday and ₹4 crore on Sunday, "Demon Slayer"'s total collection reached ₹62.46 crore. This figure is considered a major success for an anime film in India.

Loca Chapter 1
This South Indian film has surpassed other films at the box office. After earning 3.15 crore rupees on Saturday and 4 crore rupees on Sunday, the total collection has reached 137.75 crore rupees. Kalyani Priyadarshan's strong performance and the storyline played a key role in attracting audiences to theaters.
