AJ Pritchard has pointed out 'one of the most important' elements of Strictly Come Dancing that fans might miss. The TV star, 30, served as a professional on the BBC's Saturday night favourite and whilst he saw contestants like Mollie King and Saffron Barker throughout their time in the competition, he has insisted that the video tape that rolls before they even take to the floor is almost as important as the dance itself.
"One thing I would say is that through watching the VTs...so the VTs are the small videos you get obviously before they dance, and the VT is one of the most important things.
"When you do break it down, the VT is the the same duration as the actual dance. You have a small opportunity to with Tess and Claudia, but I mean you have a sentence.

During a chat on GB News, he added: "You can't really get your point across unless it's like 'It went wrong, I'm so upset. Simple talking points."
The former I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! star then explained that because showbiz guru Ross King, who is currently competing with Jowita Przystal, was able to go back to Scotland as part of last week's routine, he could 'show emotion' in order to further connect with the viewers at home via the short clip.
After his professional dance partner, Jowita, revealed they would be dancing the waltz to The Proclaimers' tune Sunshine On Leith, Ross took her to Loch Lomond. There, the pair opened up on why the area was so special to Ross.
Ross described himself as a "very proud Scots person". And he explained he moved away for work, but could envision himself returning one day.
When Jowita asked why the loch has a special place in his heart, he said: "So many memories around here." The video showed the luscious scenery as the pair took to the water.
Emotionally, he reflected: "My school friends, sister, yeah, I think about my mum and dad when I'm here. It's special. It's happy. It's a happy cry."
And the tears continued following his dance on the floor. The duo embraced as Ross wiped away the tears after completing their routine.

While judges were still keen to critique, they admitted he is certainly the "most improved" dancer so far. And he candidly admitted: "I want to be the poster boy, poster older man for people who can't dance but want to dance."

And I think the slide was a little bit slippier than I realised. As we were dancing, Jowita was actually going, ‘Are you OK?’”
Ross admitted he was extremely happy to get to the end. He continued: "But I did genuinely have fun. For me, it's a TV show, it’s not a competition.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday at 6:05pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
