Meghan Markle's dad reportedly posed a heartbreaking question about his funeral to a reporter who was with him during a recent earthquake in the Philippines. Thomas Markle, 81, has been estranged from his daughter since 2018 - the same year that she married Prince Harry and officially joined the Royal Family.
Thomas was absent from Meghan and Harry's fairytale wedding due to having suffered two heart attacks prior to the big day. He has since suffered a stroke in May 2022 and was unable to travel to the UK for the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee.
Taking to her article for the Daily Mail, Caroline Graham wrote how she was "terrified" as a 6.9 magnitude hit as she met Thomas, who she affectionately referred to as her friend, in his 19th floor apartment in Cebu in the Philippines earlier this week.
She then revealed that the pair "talked for hours", at which point Tom "turned reflective". He then asked her that if they died that day, with the disaster happening around them, "do you think Meghan will come to my funeral?". Lightening the mood, she then claimed he also asked, with a chuckle: "Will I get a better funeral because my son-in-law is fifth in line to the throne?"
