The Diplomat is making a triumphant return to Netflix with its third series, set in the immediate aftermath of the President's death.

Joining the cast for the third season is Todd Penn, Grace's husband, portrayed by Bradley Whitford.

The 66 year old American actor and producer is most recognised for his role as Josh Lyman in The West Wing.

His other notable roles include appearances in The Good Guys, The Mentalist and Transparent.

The star is wedded to his Transparent co-star Amy Landecker and they have three children.

Aidan Turner joins the cast in a guest role. The 42 year old Irish actor is best known for his lead role in Poldark.

He also gained fame for his portrayal of Kili in The Hobbit films and his co-starring role in Being Human.

He is married to actress Caitlin FitzGerald and they share a child.

Keri Russell reprises her role as Kate. The 49 year old American actress is renowned for her roles in Felicity and The Americans.

Hal Wyler is portrayed by Rufus Sewell, a 57 year old British actor recognised for his roles in A Knight's Tale and The Holiday.
